Department and might reasonably act for the Government Chemist,
Medical Department, when the latter is on leave. Similarly when the
Chemist, Imports and Exports Department, goes on leave, or acts in the
post of Government Chemist Medical Department, the Director of Medical
Services has undertaken to arrange for one of his Assitant Government
Chemists to act in the Imports and Exports Department.
As this involves a modification of the Salaries Commission
recommendations, I shall be grateful to receive your approval of the
above proposal by telegram, so that the officer concerned may be in-
formed of his position as soon as possible.
